New Mexico is a wonderful place, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t areas for improvement. From economic boosts, to community building and supporting our schools, there’s a lot for us to learn and implement. That’s where the REinvent Speaker Series comes in. Reputable speakers will gather in New Mexico to give the public their insights on how we can work together to better our state!
A Little About the Series
The REinvent Speaker Series was chartered in 1921 as part of the Real Estate Board of Albuquerque, or the Greater Albuquerque Association of REALTORS® (GAAR). As Realtors, many of us believe in the importance of enhancing our communities through action. Included in this outreach is the REinvent Speaker Series, which aims to inform the New Mexican public, and encourage Realtors, business owners, civic leaders, and interested citizens to participate in the active building of our communities.
The first of 3 presentations will be held on March 30th, 2016. The Cabinet Secretary for NM Tourism, Rebecca Latham, and the President & CEO of the Albuquerque Convention/Visitors Bureau, Tania Armenta, will speak about tourism and how it affects New Mexico’s economy. A strong emphasis will be placed on the value of continued efforts to spark interest in, and bring visitors to our amazing state.
The second speaker, Arun Gandhi, grandson of the renowned Mahatma Gandhi, will explain how we can personally develop the skills and knowledge to sustainably build our communities and be the change Albuquerque needs. This will be on June 28, 2016.
Lastly, on September 29th, 2016, Fredi Lajvardi, the teacher who inspired the acclaimed movie Spare Parts, speaks about how innovation, support, and dedication can help our students reach success. He’ll also teach the public how we can support our S.T.E.M. programs to further benefit our students.
